68 technical schools to be revamped

The Malaysian Government has pledged to
restructure 68 secondary technical schools by 2012 in a bid to
improve the quality and status of vocational education in the
country. Deputy Education Minister Dr Mohd Puad Zarkarshi said ‘we
have to enhance the standard of vocational education in the
country. We do not want to see vocational education looked upon as
second-class education.’
