City & Guilds Centre for Skills Development

Dear Colleague,

This issue includes a spotlight on how vocational education and training can help to break the cycle of re-offending and re-imprisonment. We also focus on two of our research projects. The first is CSD's second international research project, Training for rural development: agricultural and enterprise skills for women smallholders. The second is a joint research project undertaken with CfBT Education Trust, Smoothing the path: advice about learning and work for disadvantaged adults.

We hope you find the articles of interest. If you would like to contribute to our newsletter, please contact the editor.
