Welcome to the latest edition of the City & Guilds Centre for Skills Development (CSD) e-newsletter. Aimed at practitioners, employers, policy makers, learners and anyone who has an interest in skills education and training through out the world, we hope you find the articles of interest.

South Africa has made enormous strides as a modern democracy since 1994, and is home to a diversified and growing economy. It also remains one of the most unequal countries in the world with severe problems in basic education and skills provision.
