Winter 2011

Nick Grist - City & GuildsCentre for Skills Development

Welcome to the final edition for 2011 of the City & Guilds Centre for Skills Development (CSD) e-zine. I would like to thank Professor Edward Sallis OBE for an excellent and thought provoking piece on running an English college outside the English system, Nadim Bakhshov for his insightful article on performance measurement practices and Sarah Williams for a wonderful and uplifting piece on the relation between food growing and the development of employability skills.

I would also like to say a special thank you to Antonia Sheppard, CSD’s first apprentice, who completed her advanced apprenticeship in business & administration last week and has written an open and interesting account of her experiences.

I hope you find the articles of interest and if you have any comments or wish to make an article submission for a future issue, please email taiye.aro@skillsdevelopment.org. Finally, I hope that you enjoy the festive season and a Happy New Year.

Best wishes,

Nick Grist
